League City is part of the Bay Area of Houston which touches more than 35 miles of waterfront, is one of the top five birding destinations in the United States and is on the Great Texas Birding Trail. During your stay in League City, you can enjoy great sports fishing, sailing, leisure boating and water sports.
Grab your kayak, canoe, or paddleboard and head over to The Clear Creek Paddle Trail. This trail meanders 6.5 miles through Clear Creek, starting at Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside and ending at Heritage Park. Paddlers will enjoy scenic views along their journey, and may spot some of the wildlife that live in and around the creek, including wading birds, alligators, and deer. The City of League City hosts an annual Paddle Race along the trail for paddlers of all skill levels.

League City Trail System
League City's current trails system consists of 20 miles of trails but is expanding to 212 miles. It will connect and link schools, parks, neighborhoods and business centers. Whether you want to take a leisurely stroll, an invigorating run or roller blade with your family, these trails are the perfect places to stretch your legs.
100 Alderwood, League City, TX
The park can be reserved for company picnics, family gatherings, tournaments, and team practices. The park consists of two softball fields, one soccer/football field, sports pavilion (basketball, volleyball), and numerous picnic areas and playgrounds along nature/fitness trail. It has hiking and biking Trails, pay telephones are available, and restroom facilities are located in this park. Park size is 68 acres. Nestled along the banks of Clear Creek, this park is a great place for a family picnic and fishing. 3.5 miles west of I-45 and north of FM 518 at 100 Alderwood.
1220 Coryell St.,League City, TX
The City of League City's Historical Heritage Park is situated at the northeast corner of Wisconsin and Coryell Streets. The 10.3 acres of parkland includes 1 acre of wetland and 0.5 miles of pathways. Within the park, visitors enjoy amenities such as 2 picnic tables with game boards, 6 tables located at outdoor grills, a barbecue pit, and restrooms. In two locations, picnicking visitors will enjoy the shade of arbors with ables. For aquatic recreation, there is the canoe launch, a fishing pier, a bird watching platform, and educational interpretive signage. For family fun, visitors enjoy a multi-purpose court, a playground, or an open meadow play area. Parking, with security lighting, is available for 65 vehicles. Heritage Park is open daily to the public from 7 am to 10 pm.
1220 Egret Bay North, League City, TX
The park is located on the South Shore of Clear Creek off Highway 270. The parks hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday- Sunday.
The 148-acre park provides a home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Its quality wetlands are an excellent habitat for migrant birds, such as Sandhill cranes, great blue herons, ibises, American egrets, great white herons, owls and various songbirds, which use the area to nest and feed. Occasionally the endangered whooping cranes have been known to visit. Ducks, pelicans, shorebirds and wading birds all enjoy the large isolated pond along Clear Creek. The site’s wetlands serve as a nursery for many species of fish. The wetlands to the east help to provide homes to mammals such as deer, bobcat, coyote, and raccoons.
The park includes a 1.3-mile birding and multi-purpose observation trail with bird blinds, restrooms, picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a pavilion. It also features a nature educational center, bird rehabilitation center, along with more trails.
The park provides a wonderful opportunity for public education, one of its major objectives. Through interpretive signage, literature, field trips, the park teaches adults and children the value of the rich and diverse habitats found in the Texas Coastal zones.
Located at 5101 Orange Blossom, this park features a small pavilion, volleyball court, tennis courts, practice field, fishing pond, trails, bird viewing areas, restrooms, and a playground.
