Join us at League Park for a lecture and concert all about jazz! Enjoy an interactive lecture with Todd Parker, host of “Analog Jazz” on KTSU-FM 90.9, and bring your chair or picnic blanket to the park and grab a good spot to enjoy Saturday Night Jazz under the historic oak trees of League City.

About this Event
The City of League City and the League City Convention and Visitors Bureau are teaming up with KTSU-FM 90.9 to host a “Saturday Jazz Nights" concert and lectures series at League Park on February 24, March 23, and April 27 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Each concert—sponsored by Galveston Bay Brewing and the law firm of Williams Hart & Boundas—will host a different live jazz music group, offering a new experience each time you attend. At each concert, attendees will be able to purchase food from various food trucks and beer and wine from Galveston Bay Brewery.
Lecture SeriesIn addition to the free concerts, KTSU radio personality Todd Parker will host a one-hour lecture from 6 to 7 p.m. before each concert. The lectures will be held inside a League City building located across from the park and will provide insights into the different styles of jazz and individual jazz musicians. Each lecture costs $12, requires pre-registration, and will include a commemorative poster and swag bag.

April 27 Performer - The Mark Dini GroupGuitarist, composer, and recording artist Mark Dini has a long track record as a fixture on the live music scene in the Houston area. His band has performed regularly for over three decades including opening shows for Larry Carlton (from Steely Dan), Boney James, Norman Brown, Roy Hargrove, and many others. Music from his recordings has been used in motion pictures and he has been nominated for a Grammy three times. Dini was the musical director for Joe Sample's 70th birthday celebration and played with Joe many times. Dini's music reflects his depth of influences including jazz, blues, funk, Latin, R&B, and soulful rock tones.
