Best Boutiques

Updated: Nov 10, 2020

Boutique Shopping in League City makes a great excuse for a shopping trip and girlfriend's getaway. It's time to plan a little retail therapy.

Who doesn’t love a good shopping trip? A casual search for something that makes my wardrobe pop without making my wallet scream is a win-win for both me and my husband. As a young, married couple who call League City home, we’re always looking for ways to save money while also shopping local and supporting our community. Luckily in League City the relatively recent trend of “boutique shopping” has taken hold and there are numerous places where locals like me, and visitors to the area, can discover fashion finds outside of the mall and big-box shops. During a recently planned and budgeted  “shopping day”,  I visited several of my favorite boutiques in League City. Each are unique in their own way.

“Do you have a design in mind for your blog? Whether you prefer a trendy postcard look or you’re going for a more editorial style blog - there’s a stunning layout for everyone.”

My first stop was The Salted Hippie Boutique located on 613 East Main Street.

Their style is, you guessed it, hipster. There is a bohemian, free-soul feel that entices you when you take your first step into this boutique. In addition to offering the latest hipster apparel and accessories, owner Dauné Ortiz has created a safe environment for women to come in and feel welcome to talk, eat or hang out on the store’s comfy couch or in a special bar sitting area.  The boutique also promotes body positivity by carrying a large selection of plus sizes and by displaying a variety of body positivity quotes in the dressing rooms. They also encourage FLY—First Love Yourself. Their prices are average for a boutique and a little on the high side if you’re on a budget like me, but if you have a hippie soul then you have to visit this shop. You can also check them out on Instagram and Twitter @thesaltedhippie.

My next stop was Brave Boutique, located at 3729 East League City Parkway #130.

Brave Boutique carries modern, and for lack of a better word, “flowy” apparel. Their wide selection of clothes and accessories makes it easy to always leave with something in hand. Items are a little on the pricy side but it’s all for an amazing cause. Owner Kendra Epperson believes she was called upon by God to open this boutique and every month she picks several organizations and donates ten percent of every purchase to them. Last year, Brave Boutique donated nearly $50,000 to various charities and non-profit organizations, so to me, the higher price is worth it because you’re helping someone else in need with your purchase. You can keep up with their new arrivals and inspirational posts on Instagram @braveboutiquelc and on Twitter @brave_boutique. Be brave and go check them out.

Looking for a business-casual look that also expresses your inner fashion? Then Ivory Boutique, located at 1101 West Main Street in League City, is a place you must visit. Their apparel has a cool vibe mixed with proper etiquette, like something you would wear to an important event, plus it’s all at a reasonable price. Visit them on Instagram @boutiqueivory to see their latest arrivals.

All three of these boutiques participate in a “boutique hop” twice a year. Never heard of it? Grab one their business cards and go to each boutique to get it stamped. After all stores have stamped the card, it’s entered into a drawing for a free gift basket. The hop is usually held in the spring and winter.

Another stop on my day of boutique shopping in League City and the surrounding Bay Area was Belle Lees Boutique, located at 355 Columbia Memorial Parkway in Kemah. This boutique caters to women of all shapes and carries a large amount of larger and plus sizes. Their clothes have a colorful and fresh vibe and most of their items have some sort of floral touch to them. You can follow them on Instagram and Facebook @belle_lees_boutique.

Have a daughter and wish you could dress your mini-me in a complimentary boutique-style that matches your own? Then head on over to Mommie Chic and Me Boutique located at 501 East Main Street in League City. They have clothes, shoes, accessories, toys, and more (including hundreds of hair bows) for your little one, all with a boutique vibe to them. They also have a variety of cute clothes for baby boys. Check them out on Instagram and Twitter @mommiechicandme.

There are plenty of unique boutiques in and around League City that speak to your own sense of style and fashion. So, go out, explore, and discover a new treasure to add to your closet. Who knows, you may be inspired to step out of your fashion comfort zone and try something new.
